Catella PACS Systems Advanced Software Tools Connectivity Tools PACS "Accessories"
Services |
AMS's “PACS-in-a-BOX” products are a combination of hardware and software.
Each one is a complete PACS solution. Each is designed to handle the needs
of physician offices, clinics and imaging groups that have one to five
imaging modalities (for example, X-ray, CR, DR, Ultrasound, CT or MR). |

|
||||||
IMAGE VAULT |
Image Vault is a hardware/software solution that takes DICOM images (from either CD’s or your network) and organizes the images by patient name and patient ID. It will also accept images from a single modality, like the CR or DR in your office.
Image Vault is a micro-PACS. It consists of an all-in-one computer and viewing station, and includes AMS’s 4.0 Diagnostic ‘Pro’ imaging software. A wide range of diagnostic tools is available, including window/level, zoom, pan, annotation and measure. MPR (multiplanar reconstruction for CT and MR studies) is an optional upgrade.
Image Vault will store about 20,000 images. This is years of storage for many practices. An archive upgrade, if necessary, is available. |

PACS-1M |
PACS-1M is a true single modality PACS and image display solution. PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) is the universal medical term for digital imaging networks and equipment. It is based on DICOM, an international standard. If you select solutions that use this standard, you are not locked into one vendor's solution as your practice grows.
PACS-1M includes:

PACS-3M |
PACS-3M doubles the archive capacity of the “1M” model and takes input from up to three modalities. MPR is a standard feature. In addition, PACS-3M has a CD burner and labeler that adds an important professionalism to your communications. Finally, this package includes three Clinical Review (LAN) software licenses to provide “electronic viewboxes” in key areas of your clinic, such as patient exam rooms. Additional Clinical Review licenses can be added as needed. PACS-3M includes:

PACS-5M |
PACS-5M uses a more advanced and faster processor to handle the significantly greater workload we would expect to find in the busiest physician offices and clinics. It will store the equivalent of 200,000 14” x 17” films. PACS-5M takes input from up to five modalities and comes with a robotic CD burner/labeler to save valuable office time. Our Web Server software is included as well as 5 Clinical Review licenses that can be used at either internal or remote locations. No separate Web Server is required! Add more LAN/WEB licenses as needed. PACS-5M includes:

With the introduction of electronic medical records, images and lab reporting a new way of effectively displaying this information in the OR and ER is needed. Particularly sensitive areas, such as operating rooms, often require custom solutions to avoid costly reconstruction projects. With a depth of approximately 4 inches, our digital medical multi-consoles can be easily installed into even the lighter wall construction found in many modern hospitals. Download the product literature for examples of the large number of projects we have handled. | |||||

MODALITY WORKLIST |
Handling the "gap" between an EMR or RIS system and an imaging modality is a function called "modality worklist" or MWL. The object is to take the exact patient information input at the front desk and place that information in the DICOM header so that patient records and patient images match. It also saves expensive clerical time. To fill this gap, AMS has developed solutions to fit two situations: 1) where the EMR or RIS cannot export patient demographic information AND 2) where there is no EMR or RIS but the facility wants to create a common, consistent patient demographic database from which all of their imaging modalities can pull information. |

Catella Image Gateways and Routers direct traffic throughout the PACS enterprise. Our flexible rules-based systems allow you to address special institutional needs cost- effectively. One example is the use of an image router coupled with a Catella workstation to eliminate the need for separate archives in small satellite clinics. This assures local up-time no matter the condition of the WAN, while saving tens of thousands of dollars on archive expenses. |
||||||
Catella Web Server enables you to automatically and securely send images across the Internet anywhere in the world. Whether you need to have images sent to a referring physician 1,000 miles away or to an on-call doctor at 3:00 AM for a “wet read”, Catella Web Server software will give you the flexibility you need to improve overall patient care. Licensed WEB clients can also access your central archive from remote locations. |
||||||
Catella CD Recorders and Labelers provide your facility with the ability to
duplicate a patient's images quickly and efficiently. These units are ideal
for providing images to referring physicians, patients and back-up needs. |

Catella Scan software performs DICOM conversion and allows for selectable
instant-send destinations. The Catella Scan station incorporates our
exclusive one-step BatchScan™ that allows you to automate the DICOM header
creation, scan uncounted groups of patient films, and send the resulting
files anywhere on your network. Digitized images can also be sent over the
internet and/or directly to our Catella CD Burning Station. All images are
securely transmitted using Catella Image Armor™ (3DES encryption software). |

BMD Testing
|
Since the passage of the Bone Mass measurement Act of 1997, Medicare coverage of biannual bone density testing has made testing a more affordable and more effective treatment option for your at risk patient population. Medicare and most private insurers cover biannual bone density testing for the following patients: • Estrogen deficient women at risk for osteoporosis • Men or women with vertebral abnormalities indicative of osteoporosis • Men or women receiving long term steroid therapy • Men or women with primary hyperparathyroidism • Men or women being monitored to assess the response to osteoporosis drug therapy |

Unlike film, an entire archive of digital images
can be quickly destroyed. HIPAA requires that facilities have an image
back-up plan. If an archive failure lasts only a few days, the problem may
be limited. But, if all images are destroyed, serious problems can result.
Without a back-up, a facility is sitting on a HIPAA time bomb. AMS provides an effective, easy and inexpensive digital image back-up service using servers located at AMS. Our typical storage costs are under $0.01 per image. |
||||||
|
||||||
You have a legal requirement to keep patient
films or their digitized versions. A general rule-of-thumb is that general
radiographs must be kept for 7 years (or until the patient turns 21-years
old, whichever is longer) or for the life of the patient, in the case of
mammograms. Freeing up storage space saves overhead and reducing long-term offsite storage also carries a financial reward. AMS provides low cost physical offsite storage for your film records, coupled with our Scan-on-Demand™ service that allows you to get digitized copies of patient images when needed. |
